I’m thinking of my Mama. I’m thinking of Maya Angelou. Im thinking of Sandra. I’m thinking of women who have found themselves in strange places from time to time.
I’m sitting at a table, in my mind, with these women. I’m watching Maya sip tea, and Mama take a long drag from her cigarette, and Sandra clip her nails. I’m seeing Oprah walk in behind me, and put her hands softly on the back of my chair. And I hear these women tell me –
Learn to BE in every room. Strongly, boldly, confidently. Every open door, and every invitation. Every venture where you are the only You there…or even when you THINK that you are the only You…
Because, chile, your path is never wrong. And a succulent life requires new and untouched places.
